Steen Torner is a dedicated wildlife photographer based in Denmark.
His passion for photography began in 2006, when he purchased his first DSLR camera ahead of a trip to Australia. What started as a growing interest soon developed into a deep passion, and in recent years photography has become the main focus of his spare time.
Career
After earning a master’s degree in economics from Aalborg University, I spent most of my professional career in the banking industry. At the age of 60, I chose to take early retirement in October 2017 in order to fully pursue my passion for wildlife photography.
Today, my daily challenges are no longer centred on business strategies and management, but on the great pleasure of working with unique wildlife around the globe. However, perseverance and dedication remain key elements in achieving my goals.
Photography interests
I primarily photograph birds, as they represent the most accessible wildlife in my home country of Denmark.
In recent years, however, I have fallen in love with the extraordinary wildlife of Africa and greatly enjoy travelling to the Greater Masai Mara area in Kenya.
In addition, I regularly participate in workshops and expeditions with like-minded photographers around the world, capturing images of some of the most spectacular wildlife on Earth.
