I have travelled to Lake Kerkini in northern Greece several times to photograph the magnificent Dalmatian pelicans. One morning, while lying flat on the shoreline, I was hoping to capture a close portrait of one with an intensely red pouch and a powerful expression – and this pelican had it all.
