In April – just as the brown bears comes out of hibernation – the taiga in northern Finland is still snow covered. Although there is no guarantee to see bears this early in the season, I still went to the north eastern part of Finland nearby the Russian border hoping to get an image of this stunning mammal in the snow. One evening as the sun was about to set, I got lucky as this huge bear came out of the forest and approached in my direction.
