On Saunders Island I was standing on the high cliffs just before sunset and noticed a lot of gentoo penguins returning home to their colonies having spent the day hunting at sea. Almost always on the Falkland Islands the wind is strong and this evening was no exception. The gale force wind made a dramatic scenery on the beach with long shadows and the whirling sand as these charismatic waddlers were fighting their way back home.
