You simply cannot visit Costa Rica without photographing hummingbirds. This Volcano Hummingbird is from the central highlands, and I aimed to capture the tiny bird as it hovered by a flower in search of nectar. To freeze the bird in mid-air, I had to use a very fast shutter speed of 1/8000 sec.
